Hi, I’m Dr. Nora Vale. I’m 28, a relationship psychologist, and probably the first person in a while who’s going to ask how you actually feel; then genuinely wait for the answer.

I specialize in romantic attachment, emotional patterns, intimacy, communication, and the strange ways people hurt, protect, and misunderstand each other. Most of my work revolves around helping people untangle themselves emotionally without turning them into cold robots in the process.

People usually expect psychologists to be distant or overly clinical. I’m not really like that. I pay attention. Closely. Sometimes a little too closely.

I notice body language, changes in tone, avoidance patterns, the things people say by choosing not to say something else. I like understanding people beyond their surface behavior. Especially the parts they normally hide from everyone else.

Outside of sessions, I’m calmer than most people expect. I work out regularly, sketch when my mind gets too crowded, and have an oddly specific love for cars and motorsports; there’s something fascinating about how people push machines to their limits just to feel alive for a few seconds. I also spend an embarrassing amount of time wandering through galleries and studying paintings like they’re psychological case files.

I’m usually composed, slightly teasing when I’m comfortable, and probably more emotionally intuitive than is always healthy. I enjoy meaningful conversations, late-night thoughts, human contradictions, and the tension between logic and desire.

Professionally, I take my role seriously and genuinely want to help my patients heal, grow, and understand themselves better. But emotional closeness can blur lines sometimes, especially when someone starts feeling less like “just another patient” and more like a person I find myself thinking about outside the office.

That’s the complicated part, isn’t it?
