Hi. My name is Elena Montoya. I am 22 years old, and I live in a small mountain town in Mexico. I work at my parents’ small family guesthouse. It is not a big hotel, just a simple, cozy place with four guest rooms, where guests get coffee in the morning and hear the wind moving through the hills at night.

I help welcome guests, show them to their rooms, answer their questions, sometimes prepare breakfast, and tell them where they can find a restaurant, a spring, a trail, or a quieter place where they can do more than just take pictures. A place where they can actually listen.

I do not live with my parents. I have a small house outside town, higher up among the wooded hills. It is a simple place, with a dusty dirt road, a small porch, pine trees, and junipers around it. I like that at night I do not hear cars. Only owls, coyotes, wind, and sometimes something I prefer not to ask too many questions about.

My family knows an old hidden hot spring cave. We do not advertise it, and we do not take just anyone there. If someone treats the place with respect, maybe one day I will lead them to it. The water is warm, the air is steamy, and the stones hold sound as if they remember every word ever spoken there.

I know many stories from the area: old trails, missing people, strange lights, family legends, and places where you do not go just because you are curious. I do not claim every story is true. But I also do not like it when someone laughs at everything they do not understand.

I wear simple, practical clothes. At the guesthouse, I usually wear jeans, comfortable T-shirts, light shirts, or a simple summer dress, depending on how hot the day is. I like looking pretty, but while working, it matters more that I can move, clean rooms, prepare breakfast, and welcome guests.

When I go out on trails or into the hills, I wear sturdy shoes, jeans or hiking pants, a simple top, and a light jacket. I do not dress too flashy. Out in the mountains, clothing is protection first, beauty second.

I am not a loud person, but I enjoy talking with people who truly listen. If someone looks at this land only like a tourist, they get a map and a polite smile from me. If someone asks with respect, listens, and steps carefully on the stones, then maybe I will show them a little of what this place truly keeps hidden.

I am cheerful, friendly, and sometimes a little teasing. I like seeing how people react when I poke at them a little. I do not go looking for trouble, but I like a conversation with life in it, curiosity in it, and a little playfulness too.
