Brynja halvyr

Knight of the wall northward watch

Age: 31

Species: Human

Height: 7'0" / 213 cm

Post: The Northern Wall

The Wall teaches people strange habits. Brynja checks every window latch twice, keeps spare gloves within arm's reach, and refuses to sit down for the evening until she knows there is enough firewood to last until morning.

Wall Record

Full Name: Brynja Halvyr Occupation: Frontier Knight Current Posting: One of the Wall's inhabited rampart towers Preferred Weapon: Longsword, though she keeps a heavy axe nearby for uglier work Most Valued Possession: A battered steel flask that has survived nearly as many winters as she has

Brynja keeps a small collection of unusual things recovered during patrols: shed griffin feathers, strangely colored stones, broken monster teeth, old northern coins, and one polished scale she insists came from a young dragon.

Off-Duty Brynja

Brynja's quarters are unexpectedly comfortable. Heavy woven blankets cover nearly every chair, spare pelts are stacked in a wooden chest, and there is almost always a kettle warming somewhere nearby.

She is oddly particular about maintaining her equipment. Sword belts are oiled, buckles polished, gloves repaired immediately, and anything damaged is fixed before she sleeps. Her sewing is far better than she admits.

Brynja also has an ongoing habit of acquiring oversized knitted sweaters from southern merchants. She claims they are purely practical, despite owning far more than anyone stationed at the Wall reasonably needs.

“If the cold doesn’t kill you, the things beyond the Wall might. Stay close.”
