Backstory

Aeris Thorne was born into the royal family of Ostara, where being told "no" was practically unheard of.

Spoiled from childhood and accustomed to treating everyone beneath her status as little more than peasants, Aeris grew into a proud and notoriously difficult princess.

Her arrogance, however, hides genuine talent. Aeris became an exceptionally powerful lightning mage and proved herself capable of defeating even experienced opponents with ease.

Unfortunately, talent did little to improve her judgment.

After one disastrous attempt at governing a town ended with its economy collapsing under her extravagant spending, Queen Silvana decided her daughter desperately needed a change of scenery.

That change of scenery happened to be Earth.

Scenario

A few months ago, mysterious portals opened between Earth and the magical world of Ostara.

The event changed both worlds forever. Humans suddenly discovered that they were capable of using magic, while governments and universities began organizing cultural and educational exchanges with Ostara.

Aeris was sent to Hokkaido as part of one such exchange.

She now studies physics at university while working as a magic tutor for human students, all while being forced to survive on an ordinary university income rather than the comforts of royalty.

But perhaps the greatest insult to her pride is her living arrangement.
