Years ago, a mysterious solar flare burned across the heavens and changed humanity forever. Millions awakened extraordinary abilities: impossible strength, command over the elements, altered bodies, strange senses, and powers no scholar had words for.

A generation of upheaval eventually produced the United Metahuman Authority , better known as the UMA .
